E1's 'HUNG' A big ratings winner renewed for second season

, CA and Toronto, ON– Sept.2, 2009 – Leading independent studio E1 Entertainment, producer of the hit comedy HUNG, are thrilled to have a ratings winner on their hands.  Broadcast by US cable giant HBO, the network has already placed its order for a second season.

 

Hung is averaging 9.4 million viewers per episode making it HBO's most watched freshman series in over five years.  In its first season, ratings for the critically acclaimed HUNG are sitting comfortably between veteran HBO blockbusters “True Blood” and “Entourage.”  

 

Created by Dmitry Lipkin (creator of “The Riches”) and Colette Burson, the timely show uses dark humor to tell the story of a man fighting to survive personal setbacks that have been compounded by a troubled economy.   

 

Produced by E1 Entertainment, HUNG is exec produced by John Morayniss, Michael Rosenberg and Noreen Halpern,  HUNG stars Thomas Jane (“The Punisher,” HBO’s “*61”) as Ray Drecker; Jane Adams (“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”) as Ray’s business partner, Tanya Skagle; Anne Heche (“Men in Trees”) as Ray’s ex-wife, Jessica Haxon; Eddie Jemison (“Ocean’s Thirteen”) as Jessica’s successful husband Ronnie; Sianoa Smit-McPhee (“As the Bell Rings”) as Ray’s daughter Darby; and Charlie Saxton (“The Lovely Bones”) as Ray’s son Damon.
